Chart notes
KING REIGERT took command shortly away from the gate, opened a clear lead while setting a dawdling pace in hand, responded willingly when challenged nearing the quarter pole while racing in the three path turning for home, drifted in the the two path in upper stretch under right hand urging crowding the rallying SNOVEMBER against the rail, quickly straighthed away and finished gamely to hold sway. BAYTOWN FURY tracked the leaders from four wide down the backside, rallied on the far turn to engage the winner at the top of the lane, angled in from the four path in upper stretch, briefly took the lead midway down the lane while bumping the winner who was correcting his path after crowding rival to the inside and battled the winner to the wire giving way in the final strides. SNOVEMBER broke outward leaving the gate, dropped to the rear of the field into the first turn, moved to a tracking position along the fence down the backstretch, rallied saving ground cutting the corner turning for home, was crowded in upper stretch by the winner and finished willingly through the lane. BROMISTA was well placed just off the pace down the backside racing between rivals, circled five wide on the far turn when clear to loom boldly in mid-stretch and was out-finished in the final sixteenth. UP IN TIME was rated while well in hand to stalk the pacesetter to the final turn and had no response when called upon nearing the five-sixteenths pole coming up empty and tiring down the lane. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY AND THE RIDER OF SNOVEMBER CLAIMED FOUL FOR INTERFERENCE BY THE WINNER IN UPPER STRETCH, UPON REVIEW THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED THE WINNER AND PLACED HIM THIRD.
