Chart notes
GUNNY HIGHWAY unhurried for the first half mile to be well reserved off the pace, rallied steadily on the turn to be prominent in upper stretch and wore down the leader in the final yards in a determined drive. HEAT LIGHTNING pressed the pace to the final turn, edged clear on the bend, opened a clear lead midway down the lane and was caught in the final strides. NIGHT STICK set a pressured pace for five-eighths and gave way on the far turn.
