Chart notes
EL MERO MERO took command early and dictated the pace while getting some pressure early from SUMMERTIME PEPPERS, was able to keep that one at bay to the far turn, then quickened approaching the quarter pole, opened up and outsprinted the rest to the finish line. TONI'S INFERNO settled in the middle of the compact field early, kept to task in an even pace and outlasted the rest of the field to claim the place. SUMMERTIME PEPPERS settled two deep always on the flank of EL MERO MERO but let that rival dictate slow early fractions, quickened in tandem with that foe approaching the quarter pole but was outkicked from upper stretch, weakened in the final furlong, and was passed late for second. FIRST CLASS HARLOW came under coaxing from the start, dropped over to the rail before the first turn, raced in last but not far off the pace, launched a bit from the three-furlong pole, then swung three wide into the stretch and flattened out. RAYDEN AND REMI bore out at the start, then tracked three wide, tried to launch a bid from the five-sixteenths but did not respond, and finished even-paced the rest of the way.
