Chart notes
NODAH settled three wide with the trailing group, moved closer heading into the far turn, then bid in earnest approaching the three-furlong pole, got a head in front before the quarter pole, opened up a bid then had to fend off a resurgent RUSTY'S SUNRISE in deep stretch and just held on. RUSTY'S SUNRISE broke alertly and seized the early lead, slowed the pace down to a crawl early with a couple of rivals in close attendance, quickened the pace passing the half-mile pole then dug in under a challenge from NODAH, lost the lead to that rival then switched out to the two path in mid-stretch, came back on under steady urging and was decreasing the margin late but came up short. FOR HARPER pressed the slow pace to the far turn, lost ground to the leading pair, then finished evenly under handling and just lasted for third. WONDERRAND lacked speed and was last turning onto the backstretch, advanced some heading into the far turn, then tipped out three wide to launch a mild bid, finished up well, and appeared to have third wrapped up late but hung and missed out on a minor award. CLEARLY CREEPS broke outward and was away a bit awkwardly, then held up at the back through the first turn, started to lose ground on the field before the last turn, made a mild attempt at a rally from the five-sixteenths pole, had some trouble with the lead change, and flattened out. BE A BANDIT pressed the slow pace to the far turn, then weakened at the three-furlong marker and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
