Chart notes
DA CHIEF narrowly set a pressured pace past the wire the first time, shook clear onto the backstretch, maintained daylight through the final bend, drifted out a bit through the lane but held the runner up safe late while outside that one. DOUBLE RAP with the pace while between horses and outside the winner early, fell back off that one and chased up the backstretch and through the final turn, dropped in as that same rival drifted out in the stretch, slowly getting back to that one late. APPEALS LAST RIDE off the pace, saved ground into the lane, was rallying mildly up the inside when lacking clear room late along the rail and inside the runner up, stalled but managed to narrowly save the show spot. GOSPEL DON devoid of any early foot, staged an outside rally into the lane, finished up willingly to narrowly miss the show spot. GOSPEL JOURNEY settled off the pace, failed to produce a response when called on the final quarter. POKEY pressed the issue early while outside and three wide, stopped before three furlongs, fell back, jogged in. FOLLOWING A CLAIM OF FOUL BY THE RIDER OF APPEALS LAST RIDE AGAINST THE RUNNER UP FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN DEEP STRETCH, THE RESULT WAS ALLOWED TO STAND.
