Chart notes
MAGIC TOKEN was allowed to settle at the back of the pack down the back straight, still was at the rear but was gathering speed on the fence around the turn, lengthened stride smartly angled out sharply leaving the quarter pole to be five wide full of run at the top of the lane and drew off for win in the final sixteenth to be a last to first winner. SAVE THE DATE had a good spot on the rail tracking the engaged pair after the start, moved in to prompt the issue on the fence by the half, was nudged on holding inside position up top throughout the turn, skimmed the rail at the top of the stretch to take control by the furlong marker but could not keep up to the winner in deep stretch and had to settle for a clear second at the wire. OLIVIA'S MELODY had runners on either side when close to the back of the pack in the early running, could see the field with three furlongs from home, was forced out avoiding trouble widest in the eight path straightening out for the drive, was full of run late to close in and capture the show money at the finish line. MRS. HOT SHOT stalked three deep near the rear in the early going, began picking up rivals going around foes three wide midturn, angled out seven wide with a chance for a share straightening out for the drive and kept on coming steadily late but just lost the duel for third inside coming to the finish line. ZIPFIRE vied between rivals in the early stages, continued to fight on in the two path for a share of the prize in upper stretch, was no match for the lead pair by the eighth pole and faded inside unable to hold for the show award in deep stretch. PRINCESS ROSINA travelled on the inside in midfield by the half, regressed inside runners with a quarter mile to go, failed to get into contention down the lane but did manage to pass a weary rival inside through the stretch. BRIGHT SUNSHINE had the lead narrowly while three deep on the outside, continued to battle on up front still going three wide throughout the turn, shifted just out in the four path still in mix turning for home, had little left late and yielded by mid-stretch. NOT SO SWIFT settled on the outside in mid-pack along the backside, offered a mild run in midturn closing in on the leaders, had to be steadied sharply in the five path from an inside eventual winner shifting out quickly turning for home and could not recover down the lane to play a role in the late running. STEWARDS INQUIRY REGARDING #2 MAGIC TOKEN AT THE TOP OF THE STRETCH RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
