Chart notes
SARA'S SHAMAN broke well, settled inside just behind the lone pacesetter, crept closer through the far turn, waited for room then angled out to the two path passing the quarter pole, responded to strong handling while dueling for the whole of the stretch with WITHOUT A TRACE, edged clear in mid-stretch and kept the rival at bay. WITHOUT A TRACE hustled from the start, made the front on the first turn and went a length clear, led the way to the far turn, responded when set down approaching the quarter pole, hooked up in spirited stretch duel with SARA'S SHAMAN, gave way grudingly in mid-stretch but kept trying to the finish. MINE THAT STAR took up repeatedly through the first turn, settled mid-pack down the backstretch, moved up to bid four wide at the quarter pole then finished up well to gain the third prize, though well behind the top pair. CREATIVE MINISTER was the distant trailer to the turn and passed tiring rivals in the lane. NUMBER ONE DUDE broke outward at the start and bumped BIG BERNIE, was always prominent racing two wide to the quarter pole then flattened out in the stretch. BLUE DEVIL raced in the middle of the main pack, kept to the inside, and produced an even finish under steady urging. BENDER lacked any interest from the start, lost contact with the field early and was never involved. BIG BERNIE bumped at the start, then tracked close up three wide, came under a ride midway on the far turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch. HOW DID HE DO THAT raced with the tracking group for a half-mile, then stopped.
