Chart notes
AT ATTENTION prompted the pace leaving the first turn, moved up inisde the early paceseeter from three wide to take a short lead nearing the half mile pole, dueled with that on through the far turn, was challenged by a new opponent turning for home, battled with that one in the lane, lost the lead in mid-stretch and dug-in determinedly to come on again and prevail in a game effort. FLASHFORDANI reserved off the pace for the first three-eighths, steadily gained ground to stalk from the fence through the far turn, cut the corner to duel in upper stretch, took the lead at the eighth pole and was denied late by the resurgent winner. KAUAI DAN unhurried early to trail, made a steady advance commencing on the turn and rallied to be up for the show. SMART PLAY set the early pace from five wide into the first turn, remained wide onto the backside when confronted on the lead by the winner nearing the half mile pole, continued to battle on the lead with that one to the head of the stretch and could not keep pace in the lane. SKIPPER'S PRIDE hustled into the first turn to press the pace, settled to a tracking position down the backside and failed to respond when called upon on the far turn. ARUNDEL CASTLE was through early. HANK OLLIE chased the pace from six wide and faded.
