Chart notes
FORT WARREN was forwardly placed along the inside around the first turn, tracked the pace up the backstretch and saved ground around the far turn, tipped two wide entering the head of the lane, came under firm left handed pressure, steadily edged up closer on NULLABOR, dug in gamely late and got a nose up on the wire. NULLARBOR sped to the lead soon after the start and led the way around the first turn, continued to set the pace up the backstretch and held firm around the far turn, saved ground entering the lane, continued clear in the final furlong then got caught in final stride. FORCED RANKING settled through early stages, picked up the pace around the far turn, hustled along three wide into the upper stretch, ran on and secured a share. RICKY BOBBY sat in the back although never far from the frontend, coaxed four wide around the far turn and improved position without threatening the top trio. WHITING FIELD raced in contention around the first turn, tracked the pace two to three wide up the backstretch, given cue three wide at the quarter pole, failed to kick on and flattened in the lane. CUTLASS KING was forwardly placed sitting just off the pacesetter, chased two wide around the far turn then gave way in the lane. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
