Chart notes
MALUS tracked the pace down the backstretch, dropped from the two path to the inside early on the turn, gained to make a bid outside the three-eighths pole, took the lead outside the five-sixteenths pole, shook clear into upper stretch, extended the advantage under a strong hand-ride into the final furlong, remained under a strong hand-ride until the final strides then was put to lighter encouragement while much the best. FINAL SCORE broke in then was corrected by the rider, chased the pace down the backstretch, dropped back significantly nearing the half-mile pole, saved ground on the turn and finished with good energy to get the place. AUGUSTINIAN showed speed then set the pace, dropped from the three path to the two path early on the turn, lost the advantage outside the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back into upper stretch and weakened then was caught for the place while clear for the show. GLORIOUS BOY had his saddle adjusted behind the gate, was hustled from the start then urged along off the pace, raced in the three path early on the turn, dropped to the two path then moved back to the three path later on that bend, turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response. HEEERE'S JOHNNY bobbled at the start, was urged along near the back, dropped back quickly while climbing into the kickback late on the backstretch, moved from the two path to the four path on the turn, came out to the seven path into the stretch and finished with late energy. FREESTATE was hustled from the gate then urged towards the rear, traveled around the turn in the three path, spun into the stretch in the four path and failed to threaten. GOLDEN RULE veered out at the start then was hustled, chased the pace on the outside then in the four path on the turn, dropped back quickly near the five-sixteenths pole, turned into the stretch in the six path then moved in a bit and faltered.
