Chart notes
SILVER IS BEST was away alertly having the lead on the break, took back quite content to let the inside speed go on with down the backside, closed in on the outside through the turn, moved in sharply outside at the top of the stretch and won going away convincingly in the final furlong. MAKING HIS MARK had a tracking rail position the early going, edged up on the fence to the pacesetter around the bend, waited to make a move at the quarter pole while watching the engaged duo, shifted off the tiring early leader in upper stretch, could not match strides with the winner who was long gone but did run on to the end to easily be second best on this day. BALBONI'S CREW was nudged down the backstretch but was losing forward position by the half, made little impression just off the fence running around the oval, angled out five wide in the stretch picking up the bit and was full of run in the final furlong to get up late to capture the show award. JAPONKA stalked near the rear in the beginning, was scrubbed on inching up the rail into the turn, had to be checked slightly inside losing momentum coming up to the midpoint on the turn,, shifted outside at the quarter pole, lost its path three wide in upper stretch, got back into gear splitting foes at the sixteenth pole and with a late surge captured a minor share in the end. GRAN GHOST had a slow beginning to trail down the backside, caught up to a rival outside three wide at the quarter pole and had a solid late burst six wide passing runners in the final sixteenth of a mile. SILENT MORT settled between rivals in the two path in midfield, had no movement saving ground through the turn, shifted three wide for the drive and was one paced inside foes to the finish line. DAOU was hustled out of the gate taking command on the rail by the half, continued up top but the lead was shrinking around the turn, offered no resistance on the rail when collared by the winner at the top of the stretch and wilted inside runners through the lane. DRI SADDLE had a slow start, recovered to sit in midfield four deep on the outside down the backside, came under a ride three wide holding position in midfield around the bend, angled to the four path turning for home but faltered between in the last sixteenth.
