FLASHY BOY broke best and opened up a length in the initial stages, took some pressure from a pair of rivals through the turn, fought back when set down at the top of the stretch, and held safe under steady handling and intermittent urging. CHECK ME OUT broke well but lacked the speed to compete for the early lead, settled at the back early, saved ground, then cut the corner while starting a rally into the stretch, finished well and was rapidly closing the margin but ran out of time. CAPTAIN COOL raced between the front and rear packs through the early stages, advanced under a drive on the turn, was kept to task through the stretch, and was gradually gaining well enough to claim the third spot. TWOFEXUSNEXUS got shuffled back at the start, bid three wide through the turn, came five wide into the stretch, and finished well but was too late. UPTURNED BRIM tracked the leader through the early stages, then made a forward move to challenge for the lead near the three furlong pole, vied between horses through the turn, into the stretch, loomed a threat to mid-stretch, and weakened. SAFARINFAS pressed five wide with the forward group, moved up three wide to put pressure on FLASHY BOY on the lead, may have gotten a nose in front turning for home, finished up well but could not sustain the bid in the final furlong. ORLEANS TOURIST was hustled up into the early pace mix and vied inside with the tracking group, kept to the inside through the turn then lacked a finish in the stretch. MAX COLLECTOR hustled from the start and briefly vied three deep in the second flight, dropped off the pace well before crossing the three furlong pole faded through the field and was not a factor in the late stages.
