Chart notes
COAL DANCER was crowded by SHE'S A BANDIT after the start, raced near the back in the early stages, tipped out to the three path into the turn and circled the field to be in sight of the lead turning for home, finished up well under handling, took the lead by mid-stretch and won clear. BABY JANE advanced steadily after a tardy start to be up with the leader by the half-mile, pole, put a head in front with three furlongs to go, dug in under many threats in upper stretch, turned back all but the winner. CONGRATS CADET away well, ceded the early lead while tracking the lone pacesetter close up, continued to chase through the turn, got stuck behind horses in upper stretch, rallied once clear but was too late. SHE'S A BANDIT bobbled at the start, showed good speed, then tried to duck into the gap, steadied, dropped to mid-pack, crept close approaching the top of the stretch, then had trouble finding a way through traffic until late, then did not go on once clear. COSTA LADY sent quickly to the front, angled over toward the rail when clear, led the field into the turn with a rival in close pursuit, weakened approaching the quarter pole, then was running on fumes through the late stages. DARK SKYER broke well, chased the early pace up close, pulled up to within a lengh of the lead heading into the turn, was overtaken midway through that turn then had little to offer in the stretch. MISSNEVERSATISFIED dropped back to last early, and never menaced.
