Chart notes
HAWIJA settled behind the pace battle, was sent along passing the seven-sixteenths pole, moved up through the turn, then bid three-wide into the stretch, gained a clear lead and held sway down the stretch under strong handling. SARAH'S RUNNER a little slow to get going, advanced down the backstretch to a tracking position going into the turn, continued to gain on the front-runners through the turn, then had to go four wide to set up a stretch rally, finished up well under steady handling but could not get to the winner. BIG NICKEL under coaxing from the start but unable to join the early fracas up front, settled well behind, saved ground to the stretch, then tipped out to the four path, finished up well and was just up for third. MERONEY hustled for the early lead then vied inside, sent on with LOTTA SPIRIT HERE through the turn, gained the advantage on that one passing the quarter pole, then was outkicked in the final furlong. TSUPERMAN lunged at the start, then was outpaced through the early stages, trailed to the stretch, then passed a couple of tired foes in the later stages. LOTTA SPIRIT HERE ducked out at the start, was between horses in the early pace scramble, dueled with MERONEY through the turn, was under a drive to keep up passing the quarter pole, and gave way in the stretch. HOLD MY HAT hustled to the front from the start, vied three wide in the early pace battle, dropped out passing the seven-sixteenths marker and tired in the stretch.
