Chart notes
SIR PAYSALOT was pushed from the break to get a forward position, and made the front end after racing a furlong, dug in under a threat from a pair of rivals to the outside at the top of the stretch, finished up well under steady handling and intermittent urging, and held clear to the finish. ONE DESTINATION broke well, then was held up behind the early pace, moved out to the three path on the turn, launched a bid from the five-sixteenths marker, had some trouble with the lead change at the top of the stretch, finished well once straightened, but ran out of time to catch the winner. BABALO'S BOY broke best, led through the initial stages, then ceded the front to SIR PAYSALOT, continued in a stalking position through the turn, made a challenge for the lead approaching the quarter pole, was turned away by that rival, then began to wander about in mid-stretch and was outfinished. MADCAP was very slow to get into stride, chased from far behind and never menaced. DIRTY JOKE ducked in after the start, then bore in again once straightened out, dropped far behind and was never a factor.
