BELLA CARMELINA slow into stride, had to be coaxed early but still tracked well off the pace through the first half-mile, launched a bid after passing the seven-sixteenths marker, advanced three-wide through the turn, then swung five wide into the stretch and finished best to gain the lead in the final furlong and win clear. TOOTOO TOURIST was away well then ceded the front end, settled into a tracking position down the backstretch never far from the front end, waited for room through the far turn then took advantage of the gap when CRAWFISH BURL drifted out turning for home, opened up a clear lead in the stretch but was not match for the winner in the late stages. WORLD OF HURT void of speed despite some coaxing from the rider, dropped well behind the field through the first turn, then moved up to join BELLA CARMELINA at the back of the pack late on the backstretch run, kept to the inside through the turn, finished with some interest under left-handed urging, and gained the show spot. DYLAN'S DREAM joined CRAWFISH BURL on the lead exiting the first turn, went together with that one on a moderate pace to the half-mile pole, did not go on when that rival opened on the far turn and went flat in upper stretch. SHE BADGER went four wide through the clubhouse turn, tracked two-wide as part of the second pair behind the frontrunning duo, came under a ride to keep up after passing the half-mile pole, but struggled to keep up through the turn, went five wide into the stretch and was outfinished. CRAWFISH BURL made the front going into the first turn, then dueled with DYLAN'S DREAM through the early stages while under a fairly snug rating hold, slipped away near the three-furlong pole with the rider still confident, drifted out to the three path turning for home, leaving the rail open and tired in the stretch.
