Chart notes
BEAMER settled two wide in the second flight, drafted behind the leading trio as they cleared the path through a flock of geese on the track near the five-sixteenths marker, bid four-wide at the top of the stretch and went on, battling on GROUD CONTROL through the stretch, and kept that stubborn foe at bay while putting distance on the rest. GROUND CONTROL tracked inside just behind the leaders, launched a bid from the five-sixteenths, while avoiding the stricken fowl, hooked up with BEAMER in a spirited stretch duel but could not get by. SELECTIVELY SWEET got away best but was soon joined by a rival to the inside and outside, vied between those rivals to the turn, was under a stiff drive approaching the three-furlong pole, powered right through the flock of birds at the five-sixteenths, clipping at least one, then weakened in the stretch. CHATTANOOGA CREW vied three-wide for the early lead, was put a head in front after passing the three-furlong pole, unaffected by the flock, was three deep as four horses fanned out at the top of the stretch, then tired and was not involved late. DREAMY DEAL was away awkwardly and made contact with BIKINI BOTTOM after the start, raced inside of a trio contesting the lead, steadied approaching the five-sixteenths marker in an unsuccessful attempt to avoid the flock, dropped back, tried to recover but could not make up the lost ground. BIKINI BOTTOM took a light bump from DREAMY DEAL after the break, raced at the back of the field down the backstretch, continued to chase through the turn, and lacked a finish.
