Chart notes
BOURBON LIFE was taken back soon after the break and drafted in a couple paths, was patiently handled through the backstretch run, saved ground and edged up under coaxing past the three eighths, eased out with aim soon into the lane, closed in under a drive and engaged D DAY REASON from his outside nearing the sixteenth pole, kept on doggedly, put a head in front late and was fully extended to prevail. D DAY REUNION pulled his way forward and to the inside of a rival to take command soon into the backstretch, moved clear while in hand leaving the five eighths, was joined by an outer HARD TO FATHOM three furlongs out, remained under confident handling then shook clear when asked soon into the stretch, stayed clear under a drive past the furlong grounds, dug in when taken on by the winner, had his rider lose the crop while battling and switching over to the left lead with about seventy yards remaining, fought valiantly to the end and just missed. NATHANIEL'S HOPE prompted the pace three to four wide, took closer order under a ride past the five sixteenths, chased to mid stretch then faded. HARD TO FATHOM broke outward then quickly corrected and sped to the front, set the early pace two wide then ceded to an inner D DAY REUNION, stayed on to attend the pace, rebid near the three eighths, pressed to upper stretch then gradually gave way in the final furlong. ICE SHARD , four to five wide early, chased three wide into the stretch and faded. MONSTERONTHEMIDWAY saved ground, weakened in upper stretch and was eased late.
