Chart notes
QUALITY CAT was reserved off the pace, moved up along the inside on the turn, angled out to come five-wide into the stretch, took the lead nearing the eighth pole and quickly drew clear. MASHHAD FLATS broke slowly then racing the back of the field, came four-wide into the stretch then angled to the inside nearing the eighth pole and finished fast. CLUB MESQUITE prompted ORTH racing along the inside, dropped back slightly and angled out, then moved up to take a clear lead nearing the quarter pole but was unable to resist the top two in the drive. STEPHEN JAMES was allowed to settle while racing three-wide, came four-wide into the stretch to offer a bid and flattened out late. LONG LANCE was unhurried early, came three-wide into the stretch and finished with some late interest. BERT'S PROSPECT was forwardly placed racing three-wide, came five-wide into the stretch and weakened. ORTH set the pace under pressure from CLUB MESQUITE and tired after six furlongs.
