Chart notes
SHORTLIST tracked in mid-pack to the half, launched a bid approaching the seven-sixteenths marker, loomed three-wide at the quarter pole, then responded when set down in the stretch and held clear to the wire. EL PERFECTO took the worst of the mess at the start and was last away after that chaotic beginning, advanced three-wide down the backstretch to be within striking distance on the far turn, ran on well through the lane, never a threat to the winner, finished up well enough to take the second prize. BUTLER CABIN got bumped by PLAY MO at the start and was carried into EL PERFECTO, was unhurried near the rear, steadily advanced down the backstretch, then was put into a drive approaching the three-furlong pole, bid five-wide into the stretch, could not find the winning kick but kept on well enough to gain third. ALL WEST was away well and tracked PLAY MO from second while never far back, quickened through the far turn then weakened a bit in deep stretch and was outfinished. PLAY MO ducked in sharply at the start, bumping hard into BUTLER CABIN and causing a chain reaction to the inside, cleared off from those and made the front, led the way to the far turn, then tried to fight back under a threat from the three-furlong pole, soldiered on into the stretch but weakened late. KEYS INCLUDED was the distant trailer to the turn and passed tiring rivals in the lane. MOTAWAAFEQ stumbled coming out of the gate then was put in a squeeze, checked and took back, rated near the back, got closer as the field bunched up approaching the half-mile pole, then lacked a finish. REDDINGANDLEE settled mid-pack along the rail, started to back up after passing the half-mile pole and was not involved late.
