Chart notes
ARTEMPUS prompted the early pace to the backstretch, pulled to the lead while still well in hand nearing the half mile pole, was held to a well measured lead to the top of the lane, quickly drew clear when called upon turning for home under a hand ride and widened as much the best. KING MENDELSSOHN tracked the leader down the backside, rallied on the turn, angled four wide for the drive, chased the winner down the lane and held the closer off to maintain the place. D'ORO LEMON trailed the field unhurried to the far turn, rallied on the bend closing the gap and finished well to be gaining for the place down the lane as best of the rest. HERONEANDONLY raced wide in the first turn to move up to prompt the pace down the backstretch, remained in striking distance of the winner through the final bend and faded in the lane unable to keep pace. ARGUMENTAL showed brief speed to be the pacesetter through the first turn, was overtaken nearing the half mile pole and dropped to the rear of the field on the final turn.
