Chart notes
KHOPESH was sent from the break to get forward position, pressed the pace from between horses for the first half-mile, poked a head in front in spots down the backstretch, then committed to the front approching the three-furlong mark, went clear when roused at the top of the stretch and went unchallenged to the wire, widening the margin with every stride. SUNDAY GILT was not asked for speed from the break, settled inside well behind the pace duel up front, made a four-wide sweeping move on the far turn to bid for the lead at the top of the stretch, came under pressure but was no match for the winner, kept on under steady handling to save the place. NOTMYFIRSTRODEO outrun from the break then settled with the trio near the back, moved up into contention down the backstretch, then became boxed in through the far turn, responded when asked leaving the three-furlong pole, was finishing well, then went a bit flat in mid-stretch. RIVERBOAT BANDIT trailed far back went five or six wide into the stretch and managed to pass a couple of tired rivals in the stretch, but was never a factor. DOS DE OROS coaxed forward early, pressed the pace three-wide, weakened late on the far turn, and had nothing left in the stretch. COVE BAY BOY was hustled away from the gate, gained the rail and the lead into the first turn, held sway under pressure to the far turn, then caved in at the three-furlong pole and eased up in the stretch and galloped to the finish and walked off.
