Chart notes
DRILLING REPORT was close up four or five wide down the backstretch, moved up to challenge for the lead approaching the quarter pole, kept on well under steady handling and urging, and wore down the leader to be up in the final jump. BIND FAITH made the lead and opened up on the field, led the way through the turn and into the stretch, still with a clear lead and rider not having asked, was roused just inside the furlong marker and just failed to last. ONCOMING TRAIN reserved near the rear, then made a steady advance from the turn to be along for the show. GOLDEN QUALITY raced close up, always three to four wide, finished evenly under urging. HEARTTHROB HALO outpaced early, was wide throughout, ran on a little through the turn, came about eight-wide into the stretch but could not sustain the momentum. CREOLE CHARLIE showed good speed, chased the winner through the turn, then went flat in upper stretch. DARING REASON tracked four-wide, bid six-wide into the stretch but could not threaten. MILITARY BEARING tracked five-wide early and through the turn, swung seven-wide into the stretch but was unable to generate a rally. SILVER WINGS hustled away from the gate, vied inside early, then steadily dropped back through the turn, and came up empty in the stretch. SUITABLE was in-tight after the break, then raced in cover down the backstretch, then lacked a finish. MUCHO MARVIN raced with the pack into the turn, then struggled to keep up in the late stages.
