Chart notes
AMERICAN CITY was held up well off the pace through the early stages, moved a bit close late on the backstretch run, then launched a bid near the three-furlong pole, loomed three-wide at the top of the stretch, dueled gamely to the outside of RUNNINGINTHEMONEY to the wire and put the head in front in the last two jumps. RUNNINGINTHEMONEY broke well but ceded the front end, moved up midway on the turn to challenge for the lead, put a head in front turning for home, battled gamely but came up short in the last jumps. HOME VISIT broke outward, putting GUITAR DOCTOR in a tight spot, but made the front and dueled with DANCIN WITH ANGELS to the turn, got the best of that rival, leaving the three-furlong only to be confronted by a new threat, then battled on gamely until weakening inside the furlong marker. IZZY'S BABY BOY settled well behind, racing about three wide, made a mild advance through the turn then kept on with a steady finish but lacked a kick. MR. B CAUSE last early, was kept to task in the stretch but was never a threat. DANCIN WITH ANGELS dueled with HOME VISIT down the backstretch, weakened midway on the turn, then had nothing left for the stretch run. GUITAR DOCTOR got pinched at the start and took back, advanced up the rail down the backstretch, started to lose position heading into the turn, then did not respond when asked and trailed the rest of the field home.
