Chart notes
WILLIAM'S LEGACY broke outward at the start, bothering BYZANTINE in the process, was then quick to get to the lead, proceeded to dictate very slow fractions, getting no pressure from the closest pursuers, was able to turn the race into a sprint to the finish, got first run and held sway under strong handling to prevail. SMALL TOWN HEROINE stalked the leader from a couple of lengths back, never putting any pressure on that one despite the slow pace, moved to challenge leaving the quarter pole, and finished up well, was narrowing the margin nearing the wire but ran out of time. MISS LOUISE lagged at the back for the first half-mile, advanced steadily down the backstretch, moved up to the leaders on the far turn, kicked on with the others in the sprint to the wire, could not get to the top pair but won a tight battle for third. CHARLUCHE settled inside close up under some restraint, waited for room approaching the stretch, ran on when set down at the top of the stretch, finished well but came up short in the end. PASILA raced well off the pace through the early stages, moved up late on the backstretch, then waited for some room on the far turn but could not quicken with the others when it came time to sprint to the finish. CLASSY MIMI raced in mid-pack, always three to four wide then lacked a late kick in the stretch. BYZANTINE was bumped and steadied at the start, raced far back, tried to rally, but was outkicked in the late stages. MISS EMILY was bumped at the start, then not asked for speed, settled near the rear, was never able to overcome the slow pace, then faltered in the stretch.
