Chart notes

RONDELITO away well and stalked the dueling leaders into the stretch the first time while racing out from the rail, maintained his position in the run down the backstretch, set sail after the pacesetter two wide entering the final turn, closed determinedly three wide in the drive to take the lead in deep stretch and fend off a late surge by ACCIDENTAL GENIUS to prevail. ACCIDENTAL GENIUS was off a step slow, and allowed to settle well off the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail through the stretch the first time, moved into a striking position in the run down the backside, commenced his bid three wide entering the final turn, and closed steadily four wide in the drive to just miss. COUNTER CAT settled off the contested early pace while saving ground at the rail through the stretch the first time, continued to save ground in the run down the backstretch and into the final turn, rallied smartly through the final turn, shifted to the two path in the drive and closed willingly to get up for a share. KYALAM away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, continued to set a pressured pace through the second turn and in the run down the backside, disposed of his pace rival approaching the final turn to open a clear advantage, but gave way grudgingly late in a solid effort. MOUNT DOOM broke sharply and dueled for the lead from the outside of KYALAM entering the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue two wide in the run down the backside, but began to weaken approaching the final turn, and had little to offer late. MAKENA'S JOY was pinched back at the start, and allowed to settle well off the leaders entering the stretch the first time, trailed the field in the run down the backstretch, and failed to mount a serious late bid when called upon.
