Chart notes
HEAVENLY DREAM went quickly to the front, got some pressure from EXPLODING CIRCLE and dueled that rival into the turn, took command leaving the five-sixteenths marker, opened up and ran away from the field in the late stages. SLIM CAUSEWAY broke well, was always prominent, tracked the duel from between horses a couple of lengths back, finished strong, no match for the winner, but was a clear second. MY SOUTHERN GIRL broke in at the start, causing trouble for ONEDAYATATIME and PRIOR QUEEN, raced in the middle of the main pack, started a bid leaving the three furlong pole, came three to four wide into the stretch, and was gaining some in the late stages. EXPLODING CIRCLE dueled outside of a rival from the half-mile pole, gave way in upper stretch, drifted out late, and missed out on a minor award. GALAPIN TO VICTORY tracked up close to the pace to the stretch, then lacked a finish. ROSE HILL ROCKET was off a step slowly, then clipped heels in the initial stages, steadied, gathered up, then rushed up four wide late on the backstretch, then lacked the needed response in the late stages. BOOTS AN DIAMONDS raced close up inside to the turn, then was put to urging, but lacked a finish. SURPRISE SUNRISE was hard to load, broke well but steadied early, chased three-wide from the rear, and lacked a rally. ONEDAYATATIME got impeded by MY SOUTHERN GIRL at the start, then was under a ride to keep up but kept falling further behind, saved ground through the turn but was unable to make any impact in the latter stages. PRIOR QUEEN got bumped at the break, then checked back when a couple of rivals converged in front, checked again a few yards later, was left with lots of ground to make up, tried to rally on the turn but could not improve.
