Chart notes
APOLLO RISING was hustled to the front from the start, pressed three-wide through the first turn and content with that position down the backstretch, moved up in hand to take command approaching the quarter pole, then responded when set down at the top of the stretch and drew off under steady handling. SIVAKO was not asked for speed from the start, advanced from last down the backstretch, then bid in earnest leaving the three-furlong pole, ran on well through the stretch, could not get to the winner but finished well clear of the next horse. ZIA ZAPPER was allowed to settle into stride from the break, was unhurried at the back of the pack through the early stages, commenced a steady, long drive on the turn, and finished with a late gain to be up for the show. MO SATURDAYS dueled to the outside of CAMPFIRE CREED to the far turn, put a head in front passing the five-sixteenths marker, was unable to kick on with the eventual winner, and went one-paced to the finish. I AM GRODD raced three wide in the middle of the pack, then lacked a rally. WORTH LOOKING was pushed forward from the break, then settled along the rail in a tracking position a couple of lengths behind the leading group, came under a ride heading into the far turn, but did not respond and had little to offer in the stretch. CAMPFIRE CREED dueled through moderate fractions, gave way approaching the quarter pole, and was not a factor in the stretch run. RED SUMMERBIRD raced in the middle of the pack to the half, then steadily faded and was not persevered with when hopelessly behind.
