Chart notes
BURNIN TURF set the pace on a well rated, well measured lead, pulled away from the runner-up approaching the quarter pole and drew off unchallenged in the lane. SECRETARY OF WAR prompted the pace for five-eighths, could not keep pace with the winner midway on the far turn while under an early drive and ran-on gamely to hold the place. BURNING LEAVES unhurried early to be the trailer at the quarter pole, rallied turning for home from three wide, angled in upper stretch, tipped back out splitting rivals late and was gaining with a belated bid. CASTAGNO tracked the leaders from three wide to the far turn, rallied angling out five wide at the top of the stretch and flattened out unable to sustain the rally. SAMARITANO raced mid-pack and made a mild bid in the lane without impact. COX CANYON passed tirng rivals late. MR TITO'S saved ground to no avail. CITY LEADER stalked the pace from the inside for a half and gave way midway on the final turn.
