Chart notes
CENTRIFUGAL FORCE got away well, made the front with some pressure from HINK'S PALADIN, backed off the pace near the five-sixteenths marker, and had nothing to offer in the stretch. MITHRIDATES took up at the start, moved up going down the backstretch to race behind the forward group through the turn, put in a good late bid up the rail, but was outfinished. HINK'S PALADIN veered inward at the start and bothered MITHIDATES, moved up and pressed the pace outside of CENTRIFUGAL FORCE, had a brief lead approaching the quarter pole, but was overtaken at the top of the stretch and tired. READY PURSUIT settled between horses in the second flight, came two to three wide into the stretch and finished up well, no match for the winner but was second best. TOM'S SPIRIT broke well, then settled behind the dueling leaders, advanced to bid for the lead approaching the five-sixteenths marker, took over the lead in upper stretch, went clear in the final furlong, and went unchallenged to the wire. BETTERING raced near the back, three-wide throughout, then found best stride a little too late but rallied to get the third prize.
