Chart notes
ELLIE'S BOYFRIEND broke outward into the path of BANGKOK BOB before rushing to the front, was always kept a length or more ahead of the rest, responded when set down at the top of the stretch, and held sway to the finish. TRY HARDER tracked in mid-pack, several lengths behind the leader, finished up with a good late run under urging to get up for the place. PALM ISLAND was the inside horse of the trio pressing ELLIE'S BOYFRIEND on the lead, outfinished the other two but lost a head bob for second. BACKSIDE BUZZ raced between horses in the stalking group, held position, but could not find another gear when needed in the stretch. BRONX BOYS was the outside horse of the three stalking the leader, finished evenly, unable to make up the needed ground in the late stages. WITHOUT PRETENCE chased from far back then was slowly closing the gap in the stretch, but had too much ground to make up. BANGKOK BOB was impeded at the start dropped far behind and was never a factor.
