Chart notes
BODE'S MAKER settled with the second group well behind the early pace, stayed in the clear two to three wide throughout, moved up after a mile to get into contention, went to the lead midway on the turn, quickened in the stretch, and won as the rider pleased under a mild hand ride. MAJOR THOMAS was always forwardly placed racing mostly near the rail, steadied in traffic near the three-furlong pole, then steadied again approaching the quarter pole, came three wide into the stretch behind horses, found an opening inside the furlong marker, and finished up well to gain the place. VON HOFF settled at the rear of the field and content with that position until the last turn, circled the field, then swung five-wide into the stretch and sustained the run down the middle of the course while lugging in. SACHMO was close up with the forward group, always about two-side, made a mild bid on the last turn but lacked a serious late kick, finished evenly to be well clear of the next horse. CALL ON CLARA raced in the middle of the pack, saved ground throughout, but lacked a closing kick. CRAZY KATER settled near the back with the trailing group, saved ground to the last turn, started a forward move going into the final turn, encountered traffic, went three wide, advanced to be within striking distance of the leaders approaching the top of the stretch, but flattened out mid-stretch. WHISKEYMAC stalked the pace two wide, briefly took the lead at the three-furlong pole, then was overtaken by BODE'S MAKER, then weakened and was outkicked through the stretch run. BARLEEWON fought the rider through the early stages, steadied repeatedly through the first turn, settled down passing the stands the first time, advanced three-wide late on the backstretch run the second time, made a mild forward move to the top of the stretch, then stopped. SAKETUMI led the way for a little over a mile, then tired, faded through the field, and had nothing left to give in the stretch. Copyright 2026 Equibase Company LLC. All Rights Reserved.
