LOOKIN LUCKY AGAIN came away from the gate a little awkwardly, was devoid of speed from the start, trailed to the far turn, launched a bid with three furlongs to run, tipped out to the three-path for a clear run in mid-stretch, responded to handling to take the lead late and win clear. SUMMERTIMEE made the early running with the rider doing his best to temper the pace, was getting some pressure from SEE YOU LATER BEBE down the backstretch and through the turn but shook free of that rival late on the turn, tried to quicken in upper stretch while beset by challengers, had some trouble with the lead change, was outfinished by the winner but saved the place. HAKUHIA bobbled at the break and was a bit slow to get going, moved to the rail when clear before the first turn, settled mid-pack, made a five-wide bid into the stretch, and produced a grinding finish to claim the third prize. MYA WAY tracked in mid-pack two-wide then made a belated rally to improve. VERY UNLIKELY took up sharply in traffic going into the first turn, settled near the rear of the field down the backstretch, made a three-wide bid on the far turn that carried five or six wide into the stretch, then flattened out late. SEE YOU LATER BEBE pressed SUMMERTIMEE to the outside then lacked a rally in the stretch. CLOUD ANGEL tracked just behind the leaders to the inside, responded when asked to quicken leaving the three-furlong pole, loomed a threat at the top of the stretch, but gave way and tired in the final furlong. CHECKER'S SONG veered out slightly at the start, went four wide through the first turn, then tracked close up three-wide just behind the pace, bid three-wide for the lead at the top of the stretch but was already under a drive, then faltered in mid-stretch. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INVOLVING THE ACTIONS OF #6 VERY UNLIKELY ON THE FIRST TURN. AFTER A REVEW, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
