Chart notes
GREY CHARMER unhurried for the first half mile to be the trailer, rallied on the far turn circling five wide to engage the leader at the head of the stretch, dueled with the pacesetter through the lane and prevailed at the wire. MIDNIGHT AMBITION set the pace on a well measured, well rated lead in hand, responded when called upon turning for home, battled gamely through the lane with the winner and was outkicked late. EXPRESS STAR stalked the pacesetter from two wide down the backside, rallied to threaten on the turn, could not keep pace with the top pair in upper stretch and ran-on as best of the rest. THIRD CITY reared at the start giving the field a half dozen lengths, made a steady advance around the first turn and down the backside, rallied on the final turn to threaten the pacesetter and flattened out turning for home the victim of the compromised start. NOBLE CONQUEST showed brief speed prompting the leader for a half and came up empty dropping from contention on the far turn.
