Chart notes
PANCHO SLIPS AWAY broke well to take command, opened a clear lead down the backside, remained in control turning for home, repelled the runner-up in mid-stretch and kicked away in an all-out, determined drive. YES I'M JESS prompted the pace to the turn, rallied on the bend closing the gap under mild urging, rallied in upper stretch in a drive to threaten, was turned away by the winner and finished willingly to hold the place. COASTAL BREEZE hesitated at the start to give the field a couple lengths, was unhurried while narrowing the gap down the backside, rallied at the quarter pole circling to the outside, was blocked repeatedly by SANDINI in upper stretch, finally angled to the inside to find clear racing room and finished well along the fence to be gaining in the final sixteenth having been the victim of a tough trip. SAMDINI broke a step slow, raced up the fence to a stalking position, wandered in upper stretch weaving out and in to impede COASTAL BREEZE several times and ran-on through the lane unable to close ground. WETLANDS WILLY was not a factor.
