Chart notes
ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN got away well and tracked the early leader from the inside through the early stages, took advantage of a clear rail near the three-furlong marker to take over the running going into the far turn, was always traveling well, then responded when set down at the top of the stretch, opened up and won as much the best here. NOBLE REIGN was taken back after the break, secured a spot along the rail and racing about five lengths from the front through the early stages, was blocked through most of the far turn and upper stretch, but got a clear run from mid-stretch and finished up well to win the race for the second spot. RANGO took a bump from FAIR WEATHER FLYER after the break, then moved together with that one to get forward position on the first turn, settled three wide with the tracking group, launched a bid from the quarter pole, and finished with good energy to claim the third prize. ROARING RAPIDS was content to track in the middle of the pack through the first half, followed ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN through the far turn and into the stretch but could not go on with that rival, kept on well but was outfinished for a minor award. BERNARDO unhurried from the break, settled two-wide at the back of the pack but not far from the front in a compact field, started a bid midway through the far turn, came four wide into the stretch, finished with interest but could not find the needed response to improve. FAIR WEATHER FLYER broke out at the start and bumped into RANGO, had another close encounter with that one going into the first turn, sprinted to the front on that turn, tried to slow down the pace while clear of the rest going down the backstretch, left the rail open for ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN to slip through heading into the far turn, then drifted very wide on the last bend, tired and trailed the rest home from far back.
