Chart notes
ANNUAL BUDGET vied outside of rivals in the opening quarter, continued to duel outside of DRILLS LIL MAN around the turn and into the upper stretch, rival held a slight advantage into the final furlong, dug in gamely under firm handling, raced heads apart in final strides and got a nose up on the wire. DRILL'S LI'L MAN vied between rivals in early stages then dueled inside of ANNUAL BUDGET into the upper stretch, held a slight advantage past the furlong marker, raced heads apart late, fought back gamely from the inside and got nipped in final stride. BLOW TORCH raced in range in the opening quarter then flattened around the turn, hustled along four wide into the upper stretch, found more in reserve and finished with good response. LATE FOR LUNCH was off slow at the start and hustled up into early contention, tracked the pace then launched a bid three to four wide near the quarter pole, kept on into the stretch run and held a minor share. SPIRIT'S MISCHIEF settled through early stages, hustled along two wide into the upper stretch and lacked the needed kick for serious impact. TEN DAYS LATER dueled inside of rival through early stages and tired in the drive.
