Chart notes
LOVE PACK had good speed from the start without being asked, opened up a huge lead down the backstretch, got a bit of a breather mid-race with the chasers getting closer, then opened up again through the far turn, kept on under steady handling, and easily held clear to the wire. CODE JORGIE hustled to the front, ceded the front when unable to go with LOVE PACK early, settled outside of HASKELLED down the backstretch well behind the runaway leader, stayed to the inside and was kept to task late, closed the gap a little but unable to get to the winner. CLOUDY PAST raced three-wide through the clubhouse turn, was being coaxed along down the backstretch to move up, then under a full drive leaving the seven-sixteenths marker, came four wide into the stretch and put to steady urging to gain the third spot. HASKELLED tracked the pacesetter from well behind, closed the gap approaching the half-mile pole, separated from the rest in pursuit of that rival through the far turn, but could not sustain the bid and faltered. AMBIGUOUS raced two-wide at the back of the pack and was never a threat. GRANDSONSAM raced far behind to the inside of AMBIGUOUS, was under a drive on the far turn but did not respond.
