Chart notes

ROCKS A BLACK SUIT lacked the speed to engage early, circled the field under a drive on the turn, bid four-wide into the stretch, finished up well despite racing on the left lead, and drove past the pacesetter nearing the wire. DOUBLE RIDE hustled to the front and established a clear lead early, shook off a bid from RACER REX on the turn, and then went clear when set down at the quarter pole, shortened strides in the final yards, and was unable to hold off the winner. DISCREET MOB settled inside near the rear of the compact field, was looking for an inside path turning for home, switched out two paths and ran on to gain the third prize. RACE FOR DOUGH hustled up into the early pace mix, weakened late on the turn, and was outrun down the lane. RACER REX pressed the pace of DOUBLE RIDE from the outset, made a challenge to that one near the three-furlong pole, had that bid rebuffed then weakened in the later stages. RAPID EXPANSION broke out at the start and brushed with RACE FOR DOUGH, settled in just behind the leading group, had an opening and every chance at the top of the stretch, but was unable to quicken and flattened out to the wire. This race had a timing malfunction or discrepancy and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate time.
