GOLDEN LUNA broke alertly at the angled closer to the inside, took on the challenge from rail running AXEL STEEL and vied up the backstretch, shook free with three furlongs left tor run, held clear around the turn, took on the challenge from RAYMOND at the head of the lane, roused for more, responded, held a slim lead and held firm. RAYMOND tracked the pace up the backstretch, continued in close contention two wide late on the turn, moved up in hand to challenge GOLDEN LUNA at the head of the lane, raced in aim along the outside under firm handling but lacked the needed kick to get by. YOU VEE CEE was allowed to settle in the opening quarter while never far off the early pace, was ridden four wide going by the quarter pole, sustained a solid three wide bid through the lane and finished well clear over the rest. CALL ME ICE MAN tracked between rivals up the backstretch, hustled along three wide late on the turn, failed to sustain bid into the lane and steadily faded. AXEL STEEL advanced along the rail and dueled inside of GOLDEN LUNA up the backstretch, could not move on with the eventual winner past the three eighths pole and steadily retreated.
