LUCKY BIRD came away near the back and settled in opening stages, edged closer and raced three deep in the second flight going past the half mile marker, circled up to challenge duo for the lead mid-way around the turn, vied into the upper stretch, came under right handed pressure, cleared the lead approaching the furlong marker and finished going away. HEY BUDDY tracked the early pace along the inside, remained patiently handled around the turn, came four wide entering the head of the lane, sustained a steady three wide bid and gained second best. RUNNING BAYOU vied outside of LORD DIAMOND up the backstretch then took on the added challenge of LUCKY BIRD mid-way around the turn, fought back into upper stretch, failed to move on with eventual winner approaching the furlong marker, ran on, got edged late for place but cleared show. LORD DIAMOND dueled inside of RUNNING BAYOU up the backstretch, took on the added challenge of LUCKY BIRD mid-way around the turn, fought back in the upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong. MIRACLE MACK was was off a step slow at the start, advanced and raced in the second flight going by the half mile marker, failed to progress under a ride around the turn and faded in the lane.
