Chart notes
SECRETARY OF WAR set the pace on a well rated, well measured lead in hand, kicked away to be clear through the far turn, responded when called upon turning for home, dueled with the runner-up down the lane and prevailed in a determined drive. VAN stalked the pacesetter from the fence for three-quarters, tipped out three wide rallying at the quarter pole, vied with the winner in the stretch and could not get passed in a good effort. MAYNARD pressed the pace early, settled just off the leader to the far turn, was set to a drive nearing the quarter pole, could not close the gap and kept-on willingly in the lane to hold the show. BURNING LEAVES was in a clear pocket in mid-pack onto the backstretch, angled out with an early bid to be prominent five wide into the far turn and flattened out turning for home unable to sustain the rally. KEYSTONE HANK raced four wide in the first turn tracking the leaders, remained there to the far turn, angled in to save ground on the bend and lacked a closing response. GREY CHARMER was slow early to trail and never posed a threat. MR TITO'S was not a factor.
