Chart notes
STARSHIP D'ORO sent to assume early command, set a decent pace while prompted to the far turn, shook free and kicked clear nearing the quarter marker, widened the lead into upper stretch, drew off through the final furlong and was ridden out in the late stages and won as much the best. SCOVILLE prompted the decent pace to the second turn, could not match strides with the winner through the lane and was second best. BAYTOWN BULLEIT raced close up to the early pace, stalked three wide to the far turn, outkicked in the stretch, clear third. THE TOWN TAP settled off of the early pace, saved ground to the far turn, tipped out two wide for the stretch drive and passed tiring rivals late. IMPROBABLE CAUSE unhurried in the early going, raced widest up the backstretch, coaxed along four wide to the quarter marker, no factor in the stretch. CHARLIE'S BOOK vied for the early lead leaving the start then took back, saved ground to the far turn and lacked a response in the stretch. ABSOLUTE ZERO off a bit slowly then allowed to settle, coaxed along two wide to the quarter pole, no threat late.
