CODE NAME WILLOW stalked the pace from four wide to the far turn, rallied to engage the pacesetter nearing the quarter pole, vied with that one to midway down the lane and edged away in the final sixteenth. SUITEFOURFOURTHREE reserved off the pace for the first half mile, narrowed the gap on the far turn , angled four wide, continued a steady advance to gain the place and fell after the wire, was given water and walked off likely a victim of the heat. TAILORED FOR JOY pressed the pace through the first turn, settled just off the pacesetter down the backstretch, rallied between rivals into the turn, was unable to keep pace with the leaders through the bend and ran-on in the stretch. COCKTAIL HUMOR set the pace under steady pressure for five-eighths, responded when challenged to battle to mid-stretch and weakened late in the lane. AUTUMN'S TURN was slow early to be the distant trailer and showed some belated interest passing tiring rivals in the stretch. TRICK OF THE LIGHT tracked the leaders down the backside to be well placed in striking distance entering the far turn and lacked a closing response when called upon. CHILLOW broke a step slow, raced near the rear throughout and never posed a threat.
