AWESOME BOURBON was part of the mix up front early, took back to draft behind the frontrunner on the first turn, shifted outside entering the backstretch to move in bidding for the lead by the half, opened up powerfully around the last turn on rivals and continued to move strong down the stretch increasing the winning margin by many at the finish line. NIAGARA SKYLINE broke sharp in the mix at the start, was allowed to drift out down the stretch for the very first time watching the frontrunner, had a good spot isolated keeping a close eye on the engaged duo down the back straight, rallied outside taking closer order midway on the last turn, appeared to be the only one with a chance on the winner three wide in upper stretch, could not gain by the furlong pole and just held on to be second best at the wire inside. JAYHAWK was bumped outside on the break, then, was in tight between foes having to be checked leaving the seven eighths pole, settled into stride with rivals on each side down the backside in midfield, began to reach for ground splitting runners in the two path midway on the final bend, shifted out four wide for the drive, could not get to the winner who was long gone by the furlong pole but ran on determinedly down the lane and almost got up for the runners up share outside in the end. MASON'S GAMBLE was all alone stalking near the rear on the first turn, made no progression along the backside, edged up by the five sixteenths pole, was stuck behind foes looking for a seam at the quarter pole, shot through finding a lane between rivals five wide in upper stretch and with a good late charge got up for a minor role at the wire. JUNIPERO SERRA had the rail position co-trailing on the inside of another in the early stages, still saved all the ground through the far turn, skimmed the rail entering the stretch and finished with interest shifting out three wide at the furlong pole going by many rivals in the late running. LAC MACAZA was nestled on the rail in midfield, closed the gap improving inside runners to track the lead duo by the half, came under a ride keeping pace taking the short way around the final bend, moved out three wide for the drive but finished up evenly between rivals in the last furlong. DAI VERNON co-trailed on the outside for most of the race, shifted out three wide turning for home, passed a few tired foes down the lane but failed to menace in the stretch running. NO MORE OPTIONS angled in coming under the wire for the first time to track the leader outside going three wide on the initial turn, travelled three deep in the second flight outside watching the contesting duo down the backstretch, could not hold position dropping back in the three path by the three eighths marker, swung out widest in the seven path turning for home and could not factor outside rivals in the drive to the wire. IRONSTONE was hustled from the outer post to clear for the lead on the fence around the first turn, dueled inside up top with the eventual winner under a quick pace down the backside, gave way on the front-end by the three furlong pole and stopped in the two path in the final furlong. MALIBU MAMBO broke inwards bumping a rival on the start, had to be steadied coming under the wire for the first time leaving the seven eighths marker, sat in mid-pack three deep along the backside, offered a mild run when urged for more three wide at the three furlong pole, angled to the six path in upper stretch but folded at the furlong marker.STEWARDS INQUIRY COMING UNDER THE WIRE THE FIRST TIME IN THE VICINITY OF THE SEVEN-EIGHTHS POLE RESULTED IN NO CHANGE
