COMMANDER REX raced just off the pacesetter in early stages, challenged JUST A IRISH LAD around the turn, dueled gamely along the outside, raced noses apart late, dug in and shook clear nearing the wire. JUST A IRISH LAD set the pace up the backstretch, took on the challenge from COMMANDER REX around the turn, battled gamely from the inside, held a slight edge past the furlong marker, raced noses apart late and got denied nearing the wire. LUCKY'S SECRET was allowed to settle up the backstretch, saved ground around the turn, sustained a bid just off the inside down the lane and gained a share. AWESOME FAMILY tracked the top pair in the opening quarter, coaxed three wide around the turn, ran on into the upper stretch then flattened and lost show.
