Chart notes
VICTORY HALL broke well but backed off a potential speed duel, tracked close behind the pace battle, bid three-wide into the stretch then shifted out a path to get around a tiring PROJECT MAXIMUS, then finished up strongly under steady handling to win clear. DOWNANDDIRTYDONNA settled mid-pack through the early stages, was still left with much to do at the top of the stretch, dove to the rail in upper stretch and was kept to task under steady urging to get up for the place in the shadow of the wire. PROJECT MAXIMUS raced three-wide in the early pace battle, always traveling well, put a head in front passing the quarter pole, started to shorten strides while racing on the wrong lead in mid-stretch, held on grimly but was overtaken in the final yards. NEON SUNSET settled three-wide near the back, launched a bid on the turn, altered course in upper stretch to avoid the stricken rival, had some trouble changing leads but finished up will to just miss out on a minor award. LAW SCHOOL sent hard for the lead from the break, had the inside position in the three-way contest for the early lead, came under a stiff drive on the turn and faltered in the stretch. CAPOS SUGAR KANE vied for the lead between horses to the stretch then gave way. DOPAMINE stumbled badly at the start, then rushed up the inside to join the leaders going into the turn, had to wait for room until the stretch, then lacked the needed response once clear. LA RESOLANA broke well but retreated through the stretch to be last into the turn, and was outrun the rest of the way. SLICK MERLIN was briefly close up, then was getting out on the turn and was eased before the stretch and galloped out to the finish line. ROSIES CORNET moved up five-wide after a bit of a tardy start, advanced four-wide through the turn to loom a threat near the quarter pole then went wrong in upper stretch and was pulled up, vetted and transported from the track in the equine ambulance. .
