Chart notes
HORATIO away alertly and tracked the pacesetter into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, rushed up two wide to assume command soon after entering the final turn, held a clear advantage into the lane, and was never seriously threatened. BROKE AN BROKEN settled well off the early leaders while racing two wide entering the backstretch, launched his bid three wide approaching the final turn, was jammed up briefly entering the turn before finding a clear path entering the turn, and closed two wide in the drive to prove easily second best. BUTTONWOOD TREE settled at the back of the pack while racing three wide entering the backstretch, advanced three wide midway down the backside, rallied four wide entering the final turn, and finished three out from the rail in the drive to garner a share. THOMPSON rushed into a stalking trip from along the inside entering the first turn, got shuffled back to trail in the run to the final turn, rallied two wide through the final turn, and finished one out from the rail in the dive while finishing with some late interest. PETER FLIES broke sharply and raced to an uncontested lead while under snug restraint entering the first turn, dictated the pace in the run down the backside, was quickly overtaken entering the final turn, and faded over the final furlong.
