Chart notes
THERE GOES MY HERO settled off the dueling leaders through the stretch the first time while racing one out from the rail, maintained his position in the run down the backside while gaining ground approaching the final turn, collared the leaders three wide entering the final turn, and forged to the front, held a clear advantage into the lane, and widened his lead late while under confident handling. TIME TICKER unhurried early while trailing the field into the stretch the first time, launched his bid two wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly three wide in the drive to prove second best. RICK'S DANCER broke sharply and tracked the leader two wide through the stretch the first time, forced the issue two wide in the run down the backside while bumping with his pace rival midway down the backstretch, rallied two wide entering the final turn, and closed one out from the rail in the drive to garner a share. SOMTHING ELUSIVE settled well off the early pace while saving ground at the rail through the stretch the first time, bided his time at the back of the pack in the run down the backside, rallied along the inside entering the final turn, and finished three wide in the drive. OUR BLOKE away alertly and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, battled for the lead from the inside of RICK'S DANCER straightening down the backside, bumped with that rival a couple times midway down the backstretch, continued to save ground at the rail through the final turn, but weakened in the late stages. Following the running of this race there was a jockey's claim of foul. The rider of OUR BLOKE lodged a claim of foul against the rider of RICK'S DANCER for alleged interference midway down the backstretch. After review, the claim of foul was upheld, and RICK'S DANCER was diquallified from third and placed fifth.
