Chart notes
AVE'S IN COMMAND away alertly and dueled for the lead from the outside of EXTRA INNINGS entering the first turn, quickly disposed of that rival in the run to the final turn and opened up a clear lead, maintained that advantage into the lane, and was never seriously threatened late. BECKETT'S BEST settled well off the battling leaders while racing one out from the rail entering the backstretch, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly two out from the rail in the drive to get up for the place. BUCK'S FIZZ unhurried early while trailing the field into the backstretch, mounted a two wide bid entering the final turn, and closed willingly four wide in the drive to get up for a share. KNOPFLER settled off the early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, advanced into a striking trip from along the rail midway down the backstretch, got bottled up slightly behind a tiring rival before mounting a rail run through the final turn, and closed steadily from along the rail in the drive. QUAGMIRE stalked the dueling leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, rallied two wide entering the final turn, but was outfinished in the late going. DEPUTY'S DANCER broke sharply and tracked the leaders into the backstretch while racing one out from the rail, rallied smartly two wide through the final turn, but came up empty in the stretch drive. EXTRA INNINGS was fractious prior to the start, but rushed up from along the rail entering the first turn to vie for the lead, set a pressured pace from the inside of AVE'S IN COMMAND in the run down the backside, was unable to match strides with that rival in the run to the final turn, and had little to offer over the final furlong.
